What is sellers.json?
Sellers.json is an IAB Tech Lab standard that allows buyers to discover who the entities are that are selling or reselling a given piece of ad inventory. Publishers and intermediaries host a sellers.json file at their domain root to declare their seller relationships.
Together with ads.txt and the SupplyChain object, sellers.json provides end-to-end supply chain transparency. Buyers use this information to verify the legitimacy of inventory sources and make informed purchasing decisions.
Common issues this tool detects:
- Invalid JSON syntax preventing the file from being parsed
- Missing required sellers array
- Invalid seller_type values
- Missing seller_id for non-confidential sellers
